Stainless Steel Reactors
Resin production at CRC is accomplished in six stainless steel reactors:

3,800 gal (304 ss)
3,500 gal (304 ss)
3,000 gal (316 ss)
2,500 gal (304 ss)
1,000 gal (316 ss)
   500 gal (316 ss)

All reactors are pressure and vacuum rated, have jacket or coil (or a combination of both) heating/cooling systems, agitators, overhead condensers, dedicated vacuum systems, and PLC or DCS based control systems making them optimum for batch manufacturing.  Control systems facilitate process optimization.

Two vessels, the 3,500 gal (304 ss) and 2,500 gal (304 ss) are connected to vacuum conveying systems allowing direct charge of solids to the reactors from the receivers.  Paraformaldehyde and  Bisphenol A are examples of solids that are vacuum conveyed to process reactors.

Reactors are utilized to manufacture phenolic and amino resins, and various additives using condensation, radical polymerization, and reactive distillation technology.  Batch reactors are employed in numerous tolling projects.
